Research:
The target of my research is to understand how flies maintain lateral stability of flight; that is to understand how flies maintain transversal stability in horizontal flight when a gust of wind is applied from a lateral direction. As the first step towards this aim, I have measured what amount of side force the fly generates when it flies in the lateral direction.
